Programmes and Workshops for Parents

The Nurturing Programme

Children are rewarding, stimulating and fun but looking after them can be stressful and challenging. The Nurturing Programme helps address those challenges so that you can enjoy a calmer, happier family life. A tried and tested programme, it helps us think about what we do, why we do it and how it makes everyone feel.

Over the 10 week programme you will cover many topics including:

  • Understanding why children behave as they do
  • Recognising the feelings that drive behaviour
  • Exploring different approaches to discipline
  • Finding ways to develop co-operation and self-discipline in children
  • Learning the importance of looking after ourselves

The Parenting Puzzle Programme

We are also able to offer The Parenting Puzzle, which covers similar content in a shorter time-frame. This 4 week course is designed for any parent, at any stage of their parenting journey, who wish to share information and gain new tools, skills, and strategies. The topics covered include understanding children’s behaviour, child-led play, boundaries and parenting styles, dealing with stress and conflict, looking after ourselves, and many more.

All our workshops are friendly and fun and are delivered in a confidential and supportive environment.

From time to time we offer ad hoc workshops and advice at our Little Steps play groups working in partnership with local Health Visiting teams, Citizens Advice, Hampshire Healthy Families and South Coast First Aid to provide support on a range of topics.
